The coloring methods for rubber sheets and products mainly include surface color and mixed coloring. Surface coloring is the process of spraying coloring agents onto the surface of rubber sheets and products to color them. This method has a definite effect on static conditions, but for dynamic rubber sheet products, the coloring agent is prone to peeling off and fading.
Mixing coloring is currently the main method for coloring rubber sheets, which can be divided into two types: solution method and mixing method.
The solution coloring method for rubber sheets is to dissolve the rubber sheet in its good solvent into a determined solution, then add the coloring agent and rubber sheet compounding agent other than sulfur to the solution, stir and mix evenly, dry at a determined temperature to remove the solvent, and then add sulfur on the rubber mixing machine. This coloring method is complex to operate, with uneven dispersion of coloring agents and complexing agents, color differences, difficult solvent recovery, and environmental pollution. It is currently rarely used.
The rubber plate mixing method for coloring is currently a commonly used method for coloring rubber plates and products. It involves adding or mixing the coloring agent with a carrier before adding it to the rubber plate material, and then mixing it evenly through a rubber mixing machine to color the rubber plate. The specific methods include: dry powder coloring of rubber sheets, coloring of rubber sheets with colorants, coloring of rubber sheets with granules, and coloring of rubber sheets with masterbatch. Each type of rubber sheet has its own advantages and disadvantages in coloring. According to actual production requirements, different coloring methods should be selected, and various coloring methods can be used in combination for better results.
